Gliding Induction Courses   Joining Instructions

622vgs runs weekend Gliding Scholarship (GS) courses all year. We also run 3 one week residential courses every year.

On the GS course each trainee will:

Fly up to 40 launches

Learn the primary and secondary effects of controls

Learn to control the glider in straight, turning flight and to prevent stalls

Be able to take off, fly a circuit and land

Demonstrate knowledge of the rules of the air and principles of flight

To be nominated for a GS you will need to:

Apply to your squadron Commanding Officer

Be at least 16 years old

Have parental consent to fly signed in your 3822 or RoS book

Be certified as medically fit by your GP

Be able to commit to attend every training day until completion
